What would a holiday party be without the traditional Christmas Cheese Ball on the buffet table?
Here's a fun recipe I found for a Cheddar Cheese ball rolled in pecans. This is my favorite combination but you can play with the cheeses and the nut coating for variety. One year I did 3 cheese balls - one cheddar, one Swiss and one with smoked Gouda and I rolled them other varieties of nuts. Walnuts went really nice with the Swiss and the Smoked Gouda got rolled in pistachios!

We do a lot of cheeseballs at our house. I've never added pickle juice though. My pickle obsessed kids would love it :)
ReplyDeleteAm. Homemaker - the pickle juice is a flavored equivalent of adding a splash of vinegar and the acid gives a nice balance to the fat in the cheese.
ReplyDeleteYour kids and my child self had the same taste - I used to eat pickle sandwiches! My mouth puckers when I think of it now, lol.
